The Wizard of Oz

Dorothy is a young girl who lives with her AuntUncle, and dog, Toto, on a farm in Kansas. One day, she and Toto are caught up in a cyclone that deposits them and the farmhouse into Munchkin Country in the magical Land of Oz

The falling house has killed the Wicked Witch of the East, the evil ruler of the Munchkins. The Good Witch of the North arrives with three grateful Munchkins and gives Dorothy the magical silver shoes.

The Good Witch tells Dorothy that the only way she can return home is to follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City and ask the powerful Wizard of Oz to help her.

Giant´s Causeway

The giant´s Causeway is an area of basalt colums, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is in Northern Ireland.
It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
According to legend, the columns are the remains of a causeway built by a giant. The story tells that the Irish giant Finn was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Ben. Finn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channer so that the two giants could meet. There are some versions of the story. In one version Finn´s wife disguises him as a baby to scare Ben.

Work with the story in "Songs and Games" from Zona de Alumnos (Educacyl). LEVEL 1 UNIT 3
